Eli was a Nubian, Alpine mixed goat.  He is quite large, measuring about 36" in height and weighing in around 200 pounds.  I brought him home as a young weanling goat to help clear brush from my pastures.  He did an EXCELLENT job at this task!  I had no idea he would be able to take down saplings nearly 15 feet tall.  Be careful what you wish for <smile>
Eli and the emus came to me from the same farm in Powhatan, VA.  Here I am with baby Eli and one of the emu chicks.

Sadly, I was forced to part with Eli.  In 2005.  Sadly, I was forced to part with Eli in 2005 due to a divorce.  I was faced with difficult and painful decisions about what I needed to do to be responsible for the farm animals.  I re-homed Eli.  He lived out the remainder of his days on a beautiful farm in Culpeper, VA.  I miss him but am comforted to know that he was loved and happy on his new farm.

Goats are always into something!
